Epic Adventures in Ireland
Small group tour for women (max 6)
April 20-29, 2026

I am excited to announce my small group tour for Spring 2026!  I created the itinerary to include all of my favorite places in the west and south of Ireland.  I cannot wait to share it with you, and I hope you will consider joining me on this unique journey through the Emerald Isle!  I consider myself an "Irish enthusiast", not an expert; however along with our award-winning private driver guide, John McGroary of John's Ireland and Walking Ireland, you will be in the best of hands throughout the tour.  With over 40 years of experience in the Irish Golf and Tourism industries, our tour operator Fairways and FunDays, handles all of the pre-tour logistics as well as providing 24/7 support during the tour.  The link to the tour brochure can be found at the bottom of this page, below the tour description.

The tour begins in the capital city of Dublin with two nights at the Hyatt Centric the Liberties.  Here we will be immersed in the history and culture of Ireland.  We visit the iconic Kilmainham Gaol, which housed some of the most notorious Irish rebels of the Easter Rising.  We also participate in a private walking tour of the city with a local and take in the sights and smells of the city.  Visiting the EPIC Irish Emmigration Museum will offer you insight into what it means to be Irish as well as their unique contributions all over the world.  No visit to Dublin is complete without a visit to the Guinness Storehouse where you will learn the 4 ingredients that make up this iconic symbol of Ireland.  The self-guided tour ends at the Gravity Bar on the seventh floor where views over the city and a pint of the black stuff are included for free!

As we depart Dublin for the west coast, we will visit the oldest pub in Ireland, Sean's Bar in Athlone.  Located mid-way between Dublin and Galway, it is as iconic as it gets!  We also tour Clonmacnoise monastic site, an important religious and cultural center from the 5th century.  Set along the River Shannon, it offers incredible views in addition to itsimpressive history.  Our final stop enroute to Doolin is the ever-impessive Cliffs of Moher.  Situated along the Wild Atlantic Way, it is the most visited site in Ireland for a reason!  We spend two nights in the award-winning Bed & Breakfast, Sheedy's of Doolin.  Doolin is known as the traditional music capital of Ireland, and with several pubs within walking distance, you may have trouble deciding which to go to!  Our second day in Doolin will take us via ferry to the largest Aran Island, Inishmore.  Here you will get the sense of what life was like in Ireland 150 years ago.  Hire a bike or a pony & trap, or hop on the bus to see all of the sites around the island.  Enjoy free time to shop for an Aran sweater or other Irish gifts and enjoy the sound of the waves crashing on the shore before being returned via ferry to Doolin.  Cap the night off with a private trad music session in the home of a local musician at the Doolin Music House.

Our third destination is Killarney in the southwest of Ireland.  Known as the "Kingdom" the city is situated next to one of only 5 National Parks in Ireland.  Killarney National Park is filled with incredible beauty, from the lakes to the mountains, as well as historic sites such as Ross Castle, Muckross House and Gardens, and Muckross Abbey.  In addition to touring the park, we will also enjoy a full day exploring the Ring of Kerry, a popular sce route along the peninsula.  Our third full day in Killarney takes us to the picturesque and colorful town of Dingle.  Just an hour's drive from Killarney, we will visit the beautiful Inch Beach, tour the coast as well as allow free time in town to explore the shops and restaurants.  We will spend three nights at the charming Killarney Lodge.

As we depart Killarney for the medieval city of Kilkenny, we visit the iconic Rock of Cashel.  This site was visited by Saint Patrick himself and its dramatic location offers sweeping views over the countryside.  We also visit Cahir Castle, one of Irelands largest and best-preserved castles, located along the River Suir.

In Kilkenny, we will visit sites such as Kilkenny Castle, Canice's Cathedral and Round Tower and the Medieval Mile Museum.  Our only night in Kilkenny is spend at Pembroke Hotel in the heart of the city.

After our second full day in Killkenny, we will be transported back to Dublin for our final night in Ireland.  Transportation to the airport is included the following day.  For more details, or to join this exciting tour, contact Tracey by completing the contact form on this website.  Alternatively, you can email me at  awaytoireland@gmail.com .  I sincerely hope you decide to come Away to Ireland with me!
